Folds of Honor: Supporting Military Families Through Scholarships
Since its founding in 2007 by Lieutenant Colonel Dan Rooney, Folds of Honor has dedicated itself to providing educational scholarships to the spouses and children of service members who have been killed or disabled in the line of duty. Operating out of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, this respected charity has distributed nearly 62,000 scholarships totaling about $280 million. Witnessing the family of Corporal Brock Buckland on a flight home, Colonel Rooney was inspired to turn his heartfelt reaction into substantial support for military families. Today, Folds of Honor not only helps military families but has also extended its generous reach to families of fallen or disabled first responders, emphasizing a commitment to both freedom and safety in American society.
