Honoring Heroes: The Inspiring Story of Wreaths Across America
01/07/25
Wreaths Across America, initially inspired by a visit to Arlington Cemetery by a young paperboy, has turned into a powerful national movement. Every December, as per tradition established in 1992, volunteers lay wreaths on the graves of fallen heroes across America. The initiative began unintentionally when wreath maker Morris found himself with excess wreaths. Deciding to honor the impact Arlington had made on him as a child, he laid these wreaths at the cemetery, unexpectedly sparking a tradition that now encompasses more than 900 cemeteries nationwide and involves hundreds of thousands of wreaths each year.
