On October 11, 2018, Juli Coon faced a life-threatening ordeal when she suddenly collapsed due to a cardiac arrest while volunteering at Plano Senior High School. Fortunately, her friend Diane, along with others nearby, acted swiftly. Coach Tom Kelly performed CPR while twin sisters Christy and Wylie Winckler sought further help. This timely response saved Juli’s life. Following her recovery, she and her husband Greg founded Cardiac Crusade, a nonprofit dedicated to distributing AEDs (Automated External Defibrillators) in areas lacking these crucial devices. Juli's mission through Cardiac Crusade is to prevent others from facing similar fates by improving access to emergency medical equipment.
