- Established on Valentine's Day in 1986 by twin sisters Helen Ash and Ellen Turner, born out of love and a desire to provide food for anyone in need
- Helen and Ellen were daughters of sharecroppers and later became nurses
- Noticed patients in the hospital waiting room without food, so they used their own money to buy them meals
- Mission: To feed hungry people, including the homeless, the helpless, and the homebound
- Provides approximately 2,000 meals per week to the homebound
- Serves over 200 meals in-house every week
- Ensures that approximately 120,000 people per year do not go hungry
